Mr. Choules started his water treatment career in 1980working around the world in the areas of troubleshooting, start-up, commissioning, business development, permitting, project management, and operating of reverse osmosis (RO) and thermal desalination plants in virtually every market sector.
Prior to starting Water Cycle in 2016, Mr. Choules was SVP at Water Standard, a pioneer in water and produced water treatment and reuse for IOR/EOR. Prior to that, he was VP of Desalination and Reuse with Veolia, leading the development and execution of multipleprojects throughout the Americas. He previously served as Weir Westgarth’s regional VP for the Americas, contracting and constructing multiple projects for offshore Oil & Gas facilitieswhile managing offices in Houston and Rio de Janeiro. His career includes 19 years at MECO, the first 10 years of which he worked in Abu Dhabi supportingmore than 250 installations. He developed, executed and operated some of the first successful seawater RO desalination plants in the Middle East. Moving to the US, he had multiple roles including working with the US Navy on developing RO units for the new generation of aircraft carriers.
Mr. Choules was named one of desalination’s expert “Desalters” by Global Water Intelligence in August 2011. He is the president of Texas Desalination Association and is the Treasurer of the Caribbean Desalination Association.
