Mr. Deepak Arora is the Group Head- CSR and CEO of The Essar Group Foundation. The Essar group is a global conglomerate and a leading player in the sectors of steel, Energy (Oil & Gas and Power) , Infrastructure (Ports, Projects, Concessions) and Services( Shipping, Telecom, Realty and BPO). Mr. Arora has multi-dimensional and multi sectoral exposure and experience having worked with Government Agencies, International organizations and corporate sector. Prior to joining Essar Mr Arora was heading CSR department for Cairn India. He has worked for nearly 10 years with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and International Finance Corporation. He has worked in more than 10 countries across South Asia. He is probably the best placed professional in the industry to appreciate the perspective of both the corporate sector and the social sector. He has pioneered several new initiatives in India including the first pilot of the IFC financial valuation tool, while at Cairn India. The financial tool is a unique tool that enables a financial quantification of social investment. Under his leadership the Essar Group Foundation has extended its reach in India, South East Asia & African Countries. He also sits on several advisory boards and committees internationally.
